Welcome to The Australian Indian Innovations Incorporated (AIII).
On a fine Sunday morning in July 2002, (21st of July to be exact), a group of “Melbourne Aussies” of Indian descent from all parts of the world met at the council meeting rooms at The City of Greater Dandenong Offices in Springvale, Melbourne to form a “democratic, secular, vibrant and non-political organisation”.
We came to be known as A.I.I.I. – “The Australian Indian Innovations Incorporated”
The AIII comprises of a conglomerate of independent organisations and individuals, who have come together in membership to work in mutual harmony, respect and united purpose to nurture, promote, foster and empower the Indian presence in multicultural Australia. We aim to facilitate opportunities, depict the cultural kaleidoscope of India and assist members to showcase Indian art, culture, style, traditions and food via various activities, seminars, festivals, fairs and events.
Within hours of the meeting, the general body unanimously agreed that the first function of this association is going to be th e “Inaugural Diwali Festival-2002”, to be held at Sandown Race Course on Sunday 13 October 2002. To this day, our Association has successfully and consecutively celebrated the Festival of Diwali each October and the Festival of Holi each March at Sandown Race Course, Melbourne….
Mr Vernon Victor Da Gama is a barrister and very well known in the community giving legal advice whenever required.
Mr Yogendra Lakshman affectionately referred to as “Yogen” by the Indian community is a Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Mr Babu Akula is an Engineering & Project Management Professional working in an Engineering & Construction company.
Mr. H.Soni has been a Medical & Allied services professional and served in the Industry in Africa, Uk and Australia.
Mr Atil Gosai joined the AIII as our Treasurer from 2012 dealing directly with the association’s chartered accountants.
Mr Sunil Kumar is a Professional Business Developer, currently at a combined role of Head Estimator and Accounts Mgr with Lee Group.
Mr Neeraj Nanda is a qualified journalist with an experience of over 30 years in investigative and general journalism.
Mr Ashok Jamini is a retired health professional who has worked for several years at Monash Health as an occupational therapist.
